How to Install/Run Old Windows CD-ROM Kids’ Games on Vista?

We have some old learning software (“Reader Rabbit’s Math” and more) that does not like the Vista environment one bit. The company has a posting on how to install and run on Vista, which involves finding the actual install exe file and manually opening it: so far, no dice. Any suggestions? I know that even on a good day Vista can be recalcitrant.

Try getting a dual boot install a windows XP or else get a windows 7 cheap from my source.
